Does tool require Sign-in? It is not required that you sign-in in order to use CommunityWalk. In order to create a private map however, it is required that you register a username and password.
Description of Tool: CommunityWalk utilizes a GoogleMaps based platform upon which users can post their own landmarks, trip waypoints, or other points of interest. CommunityWalk offers a simple yet powerful interface for creating informational, interactive and engaging maps.
How does tool apply to your curricular area? This tool could apply to my curricular area in that students could be asked to plot competitor locations, various target markets, promotional opportunities, franchise locations, plotting real estate locations, or any other business related geographic location. The maps created by students could then be displayed in presentations pertaining to a particular business topic.
Where does tool fit in Digital Blooms and why? CommunityWalk would fall under Bloom's third category from the top, labeled, "Analyzing" in that it plots known locations so that users can analyze their relationship to one another or to plan an adventure.
